Matthew Kurtyka moved from Poland to the United States in 1981 and started his building career as a carpenter. In 1988, he established Windsor Builders and began scaling his projects from smaller remodels to larger renovations, additions and ultimately new builds.
Working with acclaimed designers such as Mick De Giulio, Matthew entered into the custom side of the industry early on and quickly expanded his collaboration circle to include esteemed architectural firms including Stuart Cohen & Julie Hacker Architects, Liederbach & Graham Architects, Morgante-Wilson Architects, and En Masse Architecture and Design.
By the 1990s he had set the company on the trajectory toward high-end residential construction that it continues to enjoy today.

Matthew studied physics at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, and applied mathematics at AGH University of Krakow before continuing his mathematics education at Loyola University Chicago. He established Windsor Builders in 1988.

James received his Bachelor of Science in Business from DePaul University — The Richard H. Driehaus College of Business. He joined Windsor Builders 20 years ago and has mastered every aspect of the family business since then working alongside Matthew.

Paul received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Kansas and a Master of Architecture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has been with the company for 10 years and lends his knowledge to all facets of the family business.
